A New Clematis this Summer

Back in early spring, while looking through a nursery catalog, I found a new variety of summer clematis at Bluestone Perennuals, Clematis pillu.  " It is noted for being one of the heaviest blooming Clematis.  Two sets of flowers grace this stellar performer. Last year's stems produce 3-4" double or semi-double light pink flowers with rose bars and full centers of ruffled petals. New (later) growth blooms with large pink single flowers marked with a deep rose bar."

These images were taken yesterday as the first three buds popped open.  They aren't very large yet, since the vine is still young, and small.  I doubt there will be double blooms this summer, so I'm anticipating very much the blooms next year.
