Gatlinburg visit

Recently, I had the opportunity to visit the Gatlinburg area, and drive through the Great Smokey Mountains, when my youngest granddaughter was married at a destination location.  After not traveling for quite a few years, I was excited to be going to a new location and see new scenery, as well as attend her wedding.

We rented a VRBO log home in the woods, on a big mountainside, narrow road, and lots, and lots of trees.  We probably spent only about 24 hours there for the 2 nights and 1 full day, but we enjoyed the quiet.  However, after being there just that short of time, we agreed the life would become quite boring, with the view that was seen through the living and dining room windows, and the wrap around porch.  There was nowhere to walk safely, along the narrow road, and with bears being around (we didn't see any of them, thankfully).   A rental home is much more comfortable and inviting than a hotel room, so this was a wonderful option to enjoy.
